Sweet – Ballroom blitz
Justo hace 40 años, el 13 de Mayo de 1974 esta canción de nuevo y por tercera semana volvía a ser el número 1 de las listas de España.
«Ballroom blitz» es una canción incluida en el álbum «Desolation boulevard (U.S. edition)» de «Sweet» que salió a la luz durante 1974.
«Sweet» (conocidos como The Sweet en sus comienzos) fue una banda inglesa de música rock muy prominente y una de las principales del género glam rock de las que había en la década de los 70. La formación original estaba compuesta por Brian Connolly, Steve Priest, Frank Torpey y Mick Tucker. Torpey más tarde fue sustituido por Mick Stewart y ya por último en Agosto de 1970 por el definitivo Andy Scott.
«Ballroom blitz» es para muchos el tema más característico de «Sweet», canción escrita (como era habitual) por el dúo Chinn / Chapman y lanzada previamente como single en Septiembre de 1973, fue número 1 en Australia y Canadá, número 2 en el Reino Unido y número 5 en Estados Unidos. En España el tma fue traducido como “Alboroto en el salón de baile”.
Fue incluida en la versión americana de Desolation Boulevard, pero no se encuentra en la versión británica original.
